ACADEMIC RELATIONSHIP WITH TOA
Our graduates are eligible to gain advanced standing into Birmingham City University’s degree programmes, based on their performance in their respective majors and upon meeting the University’s entry requirements.

OVERVIEW
The University is home to one of the most established, largest and most significant centres for art, design and architecture education in the world.
Birmingham City University art and design provision has had many names since it was founded in 1843 — most recently it was known as the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD).
In September 2014, the five schools that had previously formed BIAD became part of the Faculty of Arts, Design and Media. They are:
• School of Architecture
• School of Art
• School of Fashion and Three Dimensional Design
• School of Jewellery
• School of Visual Communication
The success of Birmingham City University
The move to a Faculty of Arts, Design and Media brings together all of the University's creative and cultural offering, including our performing arts, media and English courses.
During its existence, we became known as a centre for high value, design-led production.
Triumph Motorcycles, Jaguar Land Rover, Denby, and Pashley Cycles are some of the highly successful manufacturing companies that worked with Birmingham City University, along with other major businesses such as Warner Brothers.
Birmingham City University also developed research for sectors such as the construction industry, where architects examined green design and even the psychology of ‘green’ adoption.
Staff and students exhibited in major venues such as the Ikon, the Venice Biennale and the Shanghai Biennale and Birmingham City University worked with educational and research partners in the UK, Europe, China, India, Thailand and North America.
