IMPIANA Magazine Features SEX exhibition
Updated 2011-04-18
Back in October 2010, the interior design department launched the students' Creative Pop-Up S.EX Exhibition at The One Gallery to flaunt their artworks of creative & innovative pop-up store mock designs. The department rebrand itself to become ID@TOA

The week was known as Creative October which is an annual event with a platform organised to encourage students to explore creativity in interior design beyond classroom. "We believed that there are no boundaries for imagination when it comes to art & design," says Eric Leong, Head of Department of ID@TOA.

The event that attracted & encouraged public's viewing back then was led to being featured in IMPIANA and IMPIANA APARTMEN - a local magazine on practical styles & trendy designs in interior design and decoration. Showcasing the amazing creative pop-up works of the interior design students, the highly anticipated S.EX - Student Exhibition exhibited their cross-over pop-up retail store projects for various established international brands with Sunway Pyramid as their mock client.

The aim was to highlight the 'Pop up Store' trend which is famous in U.S.A and Europe; a tendency that enables a fresh feel to retail exclusivity & surprises as the object pops up unannounced! There were seven mock pop-up stores that consist of famous brand names such as Sony Ericsson, Reebok, Samsung, Mercedes Benz, IKEA and more.

The One Academy interior design students' creativity was indeed very impressive which captivated the other art major students, lecturers and the public. In time to come, IMPIANA APARTMEN would be featuring the students' mock pop-up store designs with an aim to inspire the aspiring interior designers and readers with a taste of an urban trend.

Just like The One Academy, the local trendy lifestyle magazine supports new designs of the young fresh minds; IMPIANA APARTMEN will not only highlight their bold, strong and adventurous ideas, but the feature would emphasize on the students' industry approach training that is being led by industry's interior design expert, Eric Leong - truly uplifting the 'Masters Train Masters' philosophy!
