The One Academy will be hosting an “Art in video games”, Ubisoft Singapore art exhibit. This will be the first time that this exhibit is organized in Malaysia.
Like its previous edition organized in November 2013 in Singapore, this exhibit will showcase the work of the Ubisoft Singapore studio’s artists on the Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and free-to-play Ghost Recon Online games. The Malaysian edition of “Art in video games” will display 40 pieces of concept art from Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag and Ghost Recon Online.
“We are certainly excited to be able to host this exhibition with Ubisoft Singapore, which celebrates our top notch collaboration with a top game developer. Through this exhibition, not only we are anticipating the array of concept art, but we are looking forward to be able to inspire our young Malaysian students, that they too can produce such amazing artworks and contribute to the growing design industry. As an educator, we often strive to steer our students through our top creative education so that we are able to dynamically produce the next rising pool of pioneers in the game design arena,” said Tatsun Hoi, Principal and Managing Director of The One Academy.
“This exhibit is a fantastic opportunity for the Malaysian public to get an insight into the great work performed by our studio’s artistic teams: from concept art to videos, visitors will be able to see the artistic process that guides the creation of a video game,” said Olivier de Rotalier, Managing Director of Ubisoft Singapore. “This exhibit is also a way to reflect the diversity and the quality of our studio’s artistic production.”
The exhibit will showcase concept art and videos of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag, the latest opus in the blockbuster series, partly developed at Ubisoft Singapore. The pieces showcased will highlight the scope of the studio’s work on the game: a vast array of pirate activities and more than ten different ships. Concept art and videos of Ghost Recon Online will depict the atmosphere of this AAA Free-to-play shooter game which will officially launch soon.
There will be a live drawing session with a Ubisoft artist on Saturday, 15th March 2014, at 4.30pm. The demonstration is aimed to show how concept art is created.
