Interior Design student Ong Su Ping walked home with RM3,000 cash prize for winning Gold award. Her design will be made into one of the products to be sold in one of Malaysia's biggest lighting retail centre Alfo lighting. Bronze winner Eunice Ang Chia Sze also won herself a cash prize of RM1,000 and joined her course mate in the league to have her winning design produced for the commercial market.
According to the head of interior design department Eric Leong, the competition aimed to encourage talented new designers to support new creation of product designs and expand the local design industry while strengthening Malaysian-made products and business competitiveness.
