Updated 2010-08-13
Since its first successful launch, The One Academy Interior Design Week returned in full steam for its third running (28 June - 3 July) to offer the interior design students an industry-driven learning experience like no other.

Throughout the eventful week of seminars and field trips, students gained top notch insights from experienced professionals through a sharing presentation by Nippon Paint Malaysia, mini interior design book fair and workshops conducted by Eric Leong and feng shui practitioner Dr Benny Chew.

A group of 40 students also visited the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC) and gather knowledge on the background of MTC, learning the various types of timbers in Malaysia, its usage, finishing and texture of different timbers, species and knowledge on the latest materials used in the timber industry.

In a colour workshop conducted by Eric Leong himself, students learned beyond identifying colours and its usage in therapy, the different types of colours used for residential and commercial buildings as well as exploring the subject of feng shui that has become a modern trend in interior designing homes. Eric also shared about his trip to Milan International Furniture Fair in Italy and his observation on the latest colour trend in the country and its international furniture design, among others.

Wrapping up the final day of the Interior Design week, students get the opportunity to visit Malaysia's biggest architecture, interior design and building industry event Archidex. There is also a mini interior design book fair that featured interior design related reference books and magazines for students.
