Led by the head of Interior Design department Eric Leong, who is a renowned celebrity designer in Malaysia, the Creative October 2011 event is packed with exciting activities including industry workshop and the highly-anticipated S.EX exhibition, featuring a unique crossover of international Food and Beverage companies with Malaysian local culture and flavours that will turn trends and curious heads. There are various exhibits of over 13 crossover designs by students, such as Subway & Rainforest, Chatime & Baba Nyonya, Haagendaaz & Iban culture, Godiva & Palace and more to look forward to.
In conjunction with the event, a graduation exhibition by interior design graduates on "9aint; The Colourful World" was also held from 31 October to 16 November at The One Gallery. These aspiring designers aim for a higher prospect that could direct them to their goals in life, starting with an exhibition that could portray their aptitudes and potential through their final year retail and restaurant projects with well-established mock clients including Emporio Armani, Versace, Louis Vuitton, CMYK, Prada, Gucci, Delicious, Purple Cane Tea Restaurant and Alexis.
Such is one of the many events organised by The One Academy to give students the much needed exposure to learn from top notch industry gurus and the opportunity to be more experimentally creative with their ideas that will go above par of international standard. It is also a part of The One Academy's Masters Train Masters coaching philosophy to produce highly-competent designers as a result, being in the sure-hire list of potential employers upon graduation.
