Learning how to prepare an impressive portfolio is just as important as learning how to develop design skills. For young aspiring creative designers at The One Academy, industry-experienced lecturers are always looking forward to guide students to prepare good portfolio. However this time, students get to learn from Lilian Lindbloom from Middlesex University instead.
Entitled ‘How to Prepare a Good Portfolio’, the inspiring sharing session was a unique treat for the students at the academy. Speaker, Lilian spoke with the students on the fundamentals of how to incorporate their ideas and works into a portfolio. The session allowed students to get a better understanding on the benefits of putting together a portfolio which will be able to help students in their future career opportunities or when they present their concepts.
In this key topic, Lilian also covered few tips on how to document their works and also incorporate their progressive ideas and concepts into it as well. This helps future employers to view their work and grade their level of observational skills. Therefore, Lindblom emphasized that it is important to include the process of their work, which usually starts off from a couple of sketch. This way, students will be able to break through creative boundaries, and become less self-conscious in their work and develop confidence in their talent.
With this inspiring sharing session from an international university rep, students were able to get some creative viewpoints from Lindblom, not just for the benefit of creating good portfolio, but as a platform for skill-growth.
