This exhibition organised by The One Academy Library showcases Landsat images created by the United States Geological Survey. Since 1972, Landsat satellites in space have collected information about Earth’s continent and coastal areas, enabling scientists to study many aspects of the planet. These actual digital photographs of Earth are created by printing visible and infrared data in colours visible to the human eye. Cloud formations, coastlines, mountain ranges, islands, deltas, glaciers and rivers seen from space take on patterns resembling fantastically abstract art with their striking textures and brilliant colours.
